GRC in architecture

Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) is a wonderful medium for creating architectural landscapes and sculptures as well as renovating existing structures and monuments. Thanks to its plasticity and lightness and the possibility a wide variety of aesthetic finishes, GRC allows architects to realise even the most nonconformist designs and concepts. 

GRC’s chemical inertness and durability, which surpass those of many traditional material choices, make it possible to create structures for urban, public, and private spaces which will endure for years to come. The lightness and extraordinary ease of transport and installation of this material makes it the product of choice for professionals.

Decorative GRC facades
BFG Architecture offers decorative GRC facades for public and private sector projects ranging from impressive skyscrapers and commercial buildings to individual residences. GRC facades combine elegance with functionality to produce good-looking, durable buildings. Our lightweight GRC cladding can infuse an existing structure with a new life and can also be used to restore historic buildings.

GRC looks elegant on its own or combined with natural wood, glass, and metal structures to create a modern design. The natural grey colour of GRC is a perfect base for creating original visual elements, particularly when combined with colour additives.

The most important advantages of GRC facade panels are:  resistance to adverse weather conditions (UV radiation or acid rain), short assembly time, rich palette of shades, ecological aspects (fully recyclable) and easy maintenance. GRC cladding gives a building excellent insulation properties, making it easier to maintain a constant temperature and user-friendly indoor climate, and to optimise the cost of air conditioning.
