DOMES AND CUPOLAS ​

Domes and Cupolas

BFG Architecture’s domes are the crowning glory of some of the world’s most iconic buildings, including the historic Fateh mosque in Bahrain and the Istighfar mosque in Singapore. 

One of the reasons our products stand out is our choice of materials, namely GRC, UHPC, and FRP. Structurally superior and more cost-effective than traditional choices, they are ideally suited for decorative elements such as domes, cupolas, half domes, and onion domes.

The materials offer design flexibility and can be moulded into complex shapes such as curved, corrugated, ribbed, or contoured in a variety of ways with varying thickness. Decorative details, mouldings, columns, and brackets can also be added. Further, a traditional look such as stone, marble, copper, gold, or chrome, can be achieved at a fraction of the cost.

Each material has unique benefits but they all reduce overall project costs, help you achieve quicker construction due to prefabricated parts and parts consolidation, eliminate most secondary aluminium framing and mechanical fasteners, allow architects to create designs that are impossible or impractical with traditional materials, improve thermal performance and energy efficiency, and meet building code requirements.  

Our eye catching domes are flame resistant, can stand up to weather extremes, and are resistant to rot, rust and corrosion. This means they have a longer life expectancy than others made with traditional materials.
